We recently read this book and in it all the writing was done with block prints that the author made himself. Which got me thinking about easy ways to do make stamps at home with kids, and that's where I came up with this next project...
DIY Stamps
materials:
foam sheets
scissors
pen/marker or stencil
glue
cardboard or small wood block
stamping ink
get to work:
1. First you have to decide what you want your stamp to look like. This is where printing out a stencil or shape can help. Otherwise you can draw the outline of your shape on the foam.
2. Cut out your shape. Cut it out multiple times.
3. Glue the shapes together, one on top of the other.
4. Glue all the shapes to either a small cardboard square or a small wood block.
5. Let dry.
6. Once the stamp has dried, you can press it on to the ink and get stamping!
