watercolor drip paintings

I think drip paintings are lovely because they remind me of rain on a window. Kids think drip paintings are nice because they get to watch the colors race to the end. Either way, it's a win win.

materials:
medicine dropper/eye dropper
watercolor paint and paint cups
long piece of butcher paper (a few feet)
towel or paper towel
tape

get to work:

1. Tape the top and the bottom of the paper to a door or wall.

2. Place underneath the paper a towel or paper towel to catch any of the excess paint.

3. Fill a medicine dropper with watercolor paint, hold it at the top of the paper and squeeze. Repeat with multiple colors again and again.

4. Let dry and display.

*Have two children race their drops by squeezing two different colors at once. Ask them if they think one color is going to be "faster" and why. Their answers are always quite interesting and entertaining.
