When it's not about art over here, it seems to be about books. Max is obsessed with reading. He could sit and read books all day long. So I gathered up a few favorites with beautiful illustrations to share with you today. Perhaps they'd make a nice holiday gift? Just sayin'.

For the train enthusiast. Chris Van Allsburg's life-like illustrations draw you into the story and make the magic of the Polar Express come to life. 

The colors in this book are so vibrant and pretty, even on what seems to be a gloomy Fall day. You can really hear the music through the illustrations. As crazy as that might sound. 

This book is so clever and witty and the lively little illustrations give even utensils some spunk!

We we're given a Nikki McClure book when Max was first born and I immediately fell in love with her illustrations. The colors really burst against the black and white drawings, perfect for babies, whose eyes see stark contrast best. If I could I'd have Nikki McClure art (which you can get here), in every room of the house!
