Just when I got inspired to finally have a craft night of my own, Max came down with a cold. So while we recouped on the couch last Saturday, I started dreaming up some craft night projects of my own. Here's what I'm thinking:
Washers and nail polish necklaces are easy enough to make, and while you wait for them to dry, you can paint your nails or enjoy that glass of wine (not that wine has to go with craft night, but I figure while you're at it...).
materials:
washers
chain or string
nail polish & top coat
wax paper
get to work:
1. Lay your washers on the wax paper (you can use other types of paper, but I prefer the wax because you can peel the washer off of it even if you mess up and have polish dripping down the sides).2. Pick your polish. Begin to paint the washers on one side.
3. Let the washers dry.
4. Once the washers are dry, flip them over and paint the other side. (Feel free to use multiple colors and make designs!)
5. Let the washers dry again.
6. Once they're completely dry you can now cover them in a top coat or spray them with a sealant or simply string them onto your necklace.
Here I am sporting mine. Taking photos of yourself is odd,
especially when you have a 2 year old off to the side trying to get in the shot with you.
