Be Mine, Dum Dum

These sweet little lollipop flowers are always a hit with my art class. Mostly because they're candy, but also because they're easy and fun to make. Even a 3 year old can make these flowers with a little help.

materials:
scissors
tissue paper
lollipops
tape (optional)
pencil

get to work:

1. Fold four-six pieces of tissue paper in half and cut out half of flower about 1 1/2" long. (Most children can cut the flower out if you draw the shape for them).

2. Open the tissue paper and using the pencil poke a small hole in the middle of the flower.

3. Slide the lollipop stick through each flower piece, one by one. Go slowly, making sure not to tear the tissue paper.

4. Once all the pieces are on you can fluff the paper a bit making it look more like a flower.

5. If necessary you might want to add a little tape at the bottom of the flower, securing it to the lollipop stick.
