I know it's a bit early, but I thought we could get started on Valentine's day arts/crafts anyway. This one is pretty simple and would make a nice gift for grandparents, teachers, moms etc.
Perfect for ages: 4 & up
materials:
Tissue paper (red/pink/white)
Wreath (twig style)
Scissors
get to work:
1. Open your tissue paper and cut a long rectangular section off. (Make sure the paper is layered)
2. Have the child fan fold the paper.
3. Once fan folded, fold it again in the middle. (You can either tape it or hold it for the child by pinching it).
4. Have the child peel apart the layers of the paper, creating the flower's petals.
5. Once the flower is complete, twist or tape the bottom together and stick it between the twigs of the wreath.
*If you're having trouble getting your flower to stick on the wreath, try poking a small paper clip through the bottom of the flower and then through the wreath. You can secure it on by bending the paper clip.
