Book marks with flare

You could file this one under Valentine's Day craft, yes another one, or you could file it under - super fancy book mark. Your choice. Alternately you could glue a magnet on the back and add a little more flare to your fridge. (You may have noticed I have quite a few fridge flare projects and that's because not only do I believe your refrigerator should be aesthetically pleasing, but also that the items on it should refresh every once in a while to keep your kitchen area fresh too).

ages: 2 & up

PS
Wasn't David Rakoff awesome? I loved his snarky pessimism.

materials:

clothespin
glue (liquid glue works best)
feathers
buttons, hearts, etc.

get to work:

1. Begin by showing the child how to put a dab of glue on the clothespin and then add the feather.

2. Keep gluing, adding more layers. You might want to let each layer dry slightly before moving onto the next. Or keep a small towel near by so that the child can wipe their fingers of glue - feathers and glue can quickly become a mess!

3. Let dry and either place a magnet on the back or use as a book mark, a fancy clip on your hair band etc. etc.
