materials:
tape
glue
yellow construction paper
green marker
water
spray bottle or cup
coffee filter
scissors
get to work:
1. Begin by cutting the yellow paper into strips (about 6-8" long). You'll need three to make one ear of corn.2. Fold the strips accordion style.
3. Place the three strips in a row next to each other on a large piece of yellow paper. Gather the bottoms of the strips together and tape down onto the paper. Gather the strips at the top and tape at the top of the paper. (Don't pull too tightly, let the strips give the corn some shape by being loose in the middle).
4. Take one coffee filter and scribble with the green marker all over it.
5. Spray the coffee filter with a spray bottle full of water or use a cup of water and drip water onto the filter.6. Once the filter is a little wet, crumple it up and then re-open it. This should distribute the ink all over the filter. If it's to your liking, let it dry.
7. Once the filter is dry, glue the ear of corn onto the coffee filter and trim the edges so that the filter looks like leaves.
8. Twist or glue the filter around the bottom of the corn and fold down the leaves.
