As promised, a Halloween craft. These cut outs are pretty easy for older kids (say 4 and up). Younger kids can still have fun, with a little adult help.
materials:
scissors
glue
tissue paper
stencils (see print outs)
paper
get to work:
1. Fold your paper in half twice, place the middle of your stencil along the fold and trace it.2. Cut out the stencil.
3. Open up the paper and using a glue stick, glue the tissue paper inside. Put glue around both the top and bottom part of the paper. (We glued tissue paper eyes and a nose to the bottom piece of tissue paper and then glued another piece over top).
4. Fold the paper and press along the edges to make sure it's sealed.
5. Let dry.
6. You can now use a hole punch and string to hang up your piece.
alternatives:
Younger child will benefit from the stiffness of construction paper, you may want to use this over wrapping paper when working with them.
print outs:
I used this Hootie Peel & Stick chalkboard as my inspiration for my owl cut out. To print right click on the image and open in a new tab, then print.
