You at Your Squarest, Roundest, Strawberriest...

While flipping through my new Artful Parent book I found this drawing project that I loved. It  challenges kids to draw outside their norm.

Here's what you do: line up a few pieces of paper and ask your child to draw a self portrait using only squares, then only circles, then make the biggest self portrait possible on that paper and then the smallest. This could go on and on. One of my students was having so much fun that she drew herself only using strawberries while others went on to draw themselves made only of stars and diamonds. Once they got started their creativity seemed endless!
