graduation party decor

My youngest sister is graduating from high school this month and I've been putting together some decorating ideas for her party. I thought I'd share a few with you, here are a few decoration ideas that can make any get together in a happening shin dig :

The photo booth - this has become a staple of so many parties. It's a great way for guests to document their fun. If you don't have a photo booth, even a homemade one, you're missing out.

The banner - whether they're made of balloons, pennants, banners are an easy way to add a little oomph to the festivities.

The cake - where there is a party, there has to be dessert right? Here's an alternative to your standard chocolate cake.

The drinks - Even the beverages can be part of the decor, especially if you customize it on JonesSoda.com.

The entertainment - This varies so much, it could be a simple ipod set up, a dj, a band, your own band, etc. or you can let Songza provide a playlist to set the mood for your party.

The guest book - I like this alternative to a guest book from Oh Happy Day, guests who can't make it (and guests who can) fill the envelopes with messages for the graduate. You can put them in the shape of the graduation year and they can open them later.

The guest of honor - in my opinion the guest of honor should always have to wear something to set them apart. In this case I'm talking about a button, a crown, a sash, a lei, anything really that makes them stand out from the crowd. They may be a little embarrassed at first, but that feeling of being the honored guest will make them feel pretty darn special.
