This mini beaded curtain is a fun way to brighten up your child's room. It's also super fun to play with! Max had a blast running in and out of the beads. Use a tension rod to hang them up and you can easily take them down, store them in the closet or even hang them in a window.
materials:
tension rod (used for curtains)
beads
colorful straws
scissors
string
get to work:
1. Measure the string out to about 3ft.
2. Cut up the straws into small pieces.
3. Tie a knot at the bottom of the string and then begin beading or stringing the straw.
4. Tie a knot at the top of the string while leaving a loop to hang the it on the tension rod.
5. Once you've made about 5-6 strings of beads/straws hang them on the tension rod and place it in your child's doorway.

Also, if your kiddo is 3 or older, they might be able to help make the strands. I think being able to thread beads is a kinesthetic benchmark for that age, though I can't remember for sure. It's been awhile since I was in that field.

Yes! I should have noted that as always, Max helped, so this project is good even for 2 1/2 year olds. They may need a bit of help, but usually stringing the straws is pretty easy for them.
