This weekend was warm! So we made agua fresca to help us cool off. YUM! Have you had agua fresca? It's delicious and easy to make (and yes, by "easy" I mean even the kids can help). Check out our recipe...
ingredients:
1 cup cold water
3 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries etc.)
3 tbs. sugar
1 Lime (or lime juice)
get to work:
1. Cut up the berries and toss them in the food processor or blender.
2. Strain the berries into a container over cheese cloth, or you can use any other type of strainer you may have as long as it has small holes (pasta strainers wont work).
3. Pour everything back into the blender/processor. Add the water and sugar to the strained berry juice and squeeze half a lime in. Blend once more.
4. Serve over ice and enjoy!
servings: 2
*The amount of sugar will depend on the sweetness of the fruit. Taste it first and then slowly add to your liking.
PS
You can substitute seedless watermelon, cantaloupe, lime, mango etc. etc.
