A while back my sister in-law sent me an envelope filled with white labels. You know, the ones used for mailing? She had an excess of them and wanted me to come up with a craft. I thought about this one for a while.
In the meantime, I'd been planning a holiday themed origami craft as well. All of a sudden I had the urge to make a paper car and decorate it with (drum roll please)... decals! The labels made for perfect little decals. Unfortunately I'm not talented in the way of drawing, so sweet flames running along the side were out of the question. I'll work on it. Until then, check out the how to.
heavy weighted paper (like card stock)
scissors
labels
markers
glue/tape
get to work:
1. Begin by printing out the car template.
2. Lay the template over your paper and begin cutting out the car.
3. Take your car and fold it together (as shown in the template). Secure it with tape or glue.
4. Decorate your labels. You can make lights, windows, doors and sweet decals like flames!
5. Apply the decorated labels to your car.
extension:
If you're feeling ambitious, you can make wheels out of buttons and a straightened paper clip.

Cool! Sorry it took me so long to catch up with your posts. I was reading them on a regular basis up to the one just prior to this (no joke!) and then the great move of 2012 started and I haven't done anything habitually since. Good idea for the labels!
Thanks!
Jamie
