A simple way to make an elegant design, with a preschooler.
materials:
spray bottle
watercolor
paper doilies (and any other flat object you'd like)
watercolor paper
1. Begin by arranging the doilies on the paper.
2. Select a watercolor and pour it into the spray bottle.
3. Spray the page with the paint until the paper is covered, making sure not to move the paper or doilies while spraying.
4. Remove the doilies to reveal your work!
alternatives:
You could also paint the background of the paper first or use multiple colors of spray on your paper.
Also you can save the now painted doilies for another project!
hints:
Younger children often have difficulty using the spray bottles like this. Try using this type, we found these in the dollar bin at target and they're easier for little hands to manipulate.
